Cream of Chicken Soup

This is the best cream of chicken soup recipe! I tried numerous ones on the Internet but none worked right for me. I combined making a roux with one of the Pinterest recipes I found here. It was so thick - exactly like the junk from a can!

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup water

Warning: this recipe burns easily so don't leave unattended.
Make your roux by melting butter then stirring in the flour. Let thicken for a minute or two. Then add the water. Let simmer for a few minutes so it can thicken again. Next add the chicken soup mix base. Stir until completely combined. Let summer a few more minutes to thicken while giving an occasional stir. Remove from heat. Mixture will thicken more as it cools.
